Just like our recent blog post, Back to Black, where we got to thinking about Halloween and spooky colors, for this post we decided to take a look at our current collections of pants, sweaters, tops and dresses to see what we’re currently stocking in that other classic All Hallows Eve color – orange. As you might expect, we don’t have as much orange clothing as we do black, but we still have some lovely shades of citrus for you to brighten up your closet with.
At this time of year, nothing says ‘Fall’ like a cozy bright orange cardigan – our new favorite is just the thing for talking walks in the park and kicking up fallen leaves or visiting the pumpkin patch. This longer length cardy will brighten up any outfit and is perfect with a pair of faded jeans and chunky boots.
If bold orange is a little too on the dramatic side for you and you prefer a softer shade that’s almost brown, this muted hue might be more to your taste. We love this cute little knitted sweater that also comes in dove gray. This pullover is a real closet staple that will see you through the fall months, and into winter and beyond.
If you want to embrace classic Halloween colors – without dressing up as a witch or a pumpkin! – this pretty, floaty black and orange floral print ruffled dress is perfect. Plus we think this dress offers real versatility – wear it with a cardigan, pantyhose and ankle boots during the colder months, then ditch the accessories and adapt it for spring and summer by wearing with bare legs and your favorite ballet flats or sandals.
Finally, one trend you might have already spotted this season is the backless top. Here at MolyPretty we are loving our open back sweaters and t-shirt tops – and the good news is for lovers of all things orange is that we have you covered. Take this flirty, ribbed, cropped keyhole sweater with high neck and cut out back – you’ll be turning heads in this thanks to the stunning color and sexy design.
Or what about this citrus orange backless t-shirt top with its batwing sleeves and on-trend twisted detail on the back? We think this covers all bases when you want a top that is both casual, comfortable and flattering yet also shows off a little flesh! Dress it up with a statement necklace and mini skirt for an evening out with the girls or for date night, or go low key by teaming the backless top with smart jeans for brunch.
So what do you think? Is orange a staple in your closet or do you avoid the color at all costs? Has our blog post convinced you otherwise and might you be taking a fresh look at this most autumnal of colors this season?
