The Right Stripes
Here at MolyPretty HQ we all have different styles but one thing we can all agree on is that we all adore wearing stripes. They’re pretty much as easy to wear as neutrals and solid blocks of color but they turn the interest factor up to ten. And the good news is that no matter whether you’re a horizontal stripe lover or a vertical stripe aficionado, this season we have something that’s bound to tickle your style taste buds!
We’ve cute and colorful striped sweaters and long sleeve stripy t-shirts that are just perfect for this coming fall. We’re also loving our just-in stylish striped shirts that are always a classic look both for the office when worn with a pencil skirt as well as at the weekend when teamed with your favorite jeans.
Or why not check out our sweet stripy dresses that are a must whether you’re lucky enough to be living someplace where the sun always shines and can wear them with bare legs, or you’re going to take them through to the cooler months with pantyhose or even knee high socks and chunky boots.
Of course one of the best things about stripes is how flattering they are. It’s no secret that vertical stripes give the illusion of length, making you look taller and leaner. However vertical stripes are great at drawing attention away from body parts you’re not so keen on – try colorful horizontally striped knitwear to bring the eye upwards and away from your hips, butt or legs if you’re not so crazy about them.
We think we can all agree that stripes have got it all going for them – they can be chic, they can be fun, they’re always flattering (when worn right) and they’re never boring. In fact there’s only one question that remains: where do you personally stand on the stripes on stripes look? We think clashing stripes look fab when they’re done properly. The key is to keep the rest of your look simple, so if you’re wearing a striped top with a stripy skirt or pants, make sure that any accessories such as your bag and shoes are in a solid color. Even we self-confessed stripe lovers will admit that there can be too much of a good thing!
